There will be an upcoming program in Perry that will discuss what makes the state of Iowa unique.
Forest Park Museum Curator Pete Malmberg will host the program called “Iowa Folklore,” from 1:30 to 2:30pm on Sunday at the Forest Park Museum to discuss the traditional sayings and beliefs that are unique to the state’s history.
“For that I will be doing oh Iowa sayings and beliefs to do with various superstitions and beliefs about our culture and stuff that are from all different parts of the world. But they were in Iowa in 1931 and a guy collected them in a book. So we’re able to document a lot of these phrases and sayings being used around. It’s quite an interesting discussion. It’ll be a nice little program.”
Malmberg says registration is not required as the program is free and open to the public.
