US Representative for Iowa’s Third Congressional District Zach Nunn has been vocal about the investigation into President Joe Biden’s son.

Hunter Biden recently took a plea deal for two federal misdemeanors of failing to pay his taxes. Nunn says that Hunter got a slap on the wrist for his failure to roughly pay $3 million in taxes. He claims that the US Department of Justice intentionally attempted to side track and suppress the investigation into Hunter’s finances.

“As a result, there is the appearance that we have a two-tiered system of justice under the law, one for folks like you and me who have to make sure that we report when we have something as audacious as $3 million in unpaid taxes and get it. I have small business owners here who filled out the wrong form and have had multiple audits year after year as a small business owner.”

Nunn notes there have been two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblowers that criticized the plea deal as being too soft. Nunn tells Raccoon Valley Radio from what they have gathered from whistleblowers is that the DOJ is picking and choosing who they want to go after. He is asking that the DOJ come before Congress and explain specifically what went into their decision.

That ensures that every American has the same protections under the law, whether you’re a president, a president’s son or an everyday Iowan like you and me, just trying to do the best that we can to adhere to the law under a Department of Justice system that provides protection with equality.”

Nunn says that he has joined the Weaponization of the Federal Government Committee which specializes in situations like this.
