The AC/GC Chargers were in action last night, as the teams hosted the Exira Elkhorn-Kimballton Spartan. The softball team started off a little slow, going three and out in the first three innings and allowing 2 runs in the first. They allowed another run in the fourth and 2 in the fifth for the Spartans to go up 5-0 going into the sixth. Jayla Hoover and Sophie Dorsey were able to find their way around the bases with help from a double by error from Mersadez Richter, and the Chargers picked up 2 runs in the bottom of the inning, before both teams held each other scoreless in the 7th, and AC/GC fell 5-2.

The baseball team had a little more luck, as they outscored the Spartans 2-1 in the first inning, then both teams went scoreless until the fourth where the Chargers picked up 3 more runs. The team kept the Spartans scoreless the rest of the game, and picked up their last run in the sixth inning to take the game 6-1. Senior Brock Littler led the team in hitting, with 2 hits, a 1.000 batting average, 2 RBI’s and a triple base hit. Junior Tegan Slaybaugh led in RBI’s for the Chargers, with 2 hits, a .500 batting average, 2 runs and 3 RBI’s. Littler also led the team in the pitching statistics with an ERA of 0.00, 7 innings pitched and 9 strikeouts.
