A Casey native has been named to a position with the Iowa Pork Producers Association.

The IPPA recently announced that Zoey Dinkla would be joining their team as their Producer Education Director. Dinkla says that in this position, she will be traveling around the state giving presentations and bringing educational materials for pork producers to help them in raising their animals. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what garnered her interest in applying for the position.

“So I grew up (on a) small family farm, but I was actually raised on a cattle farm, so been told to maybe keep that one quiet. But I was involved in 4H and FFA, and that obviously led me to study agriculture at Iowa State (University). So those opportunities there, just being involved in agriculture kind of gave me that opportunity up at college, and so I interned with some large integrators that kind of sparked my interest and kept me in the industry.”

Dinkla mentions that a large part of preparing to work in the position was networking and meeting others who worked in the industry. She adds that another thing that helped her prepare to start was curiosity, explaining that it helps to keep her mind open to different ideas and possibilities about what is or could be happening.
