The Panorama Panther baseball and softball teams hit the diamond on Thursday. They were up against the Des Moines Christian Lions in double-header action. Both teams were up against two solid squads.

The baseball team was looking to get the elusive first win of the season. The first game of the Panthers managed to hang with the Lions. Panorama even took the lead in the third inning, 4-2. The Panthers would hold Des Moines Christian to one run in the fourth, holding on to a 4-3 lead. However in the sixth inning is when the Lions pulled away. They would score 3 runs and take the lead 6-4. They would hold to win 6-5. The next game the Lions would double their run total and win 12-5. Dropping Panorama to 0-15 on the season.

The softball team was in a similar battle with the Lions. The first game was back and forth with Des Moines Christian having a slight lead 3-2 after three innings. After four innings it was still a close contest. In the fifth inning the Lions would pull away scoring 4 runs. That was enough to lift them past Panorama, 9-3. The second game was more dominate for Des Moines Christian they would win that one as well, 20-10.

Both teams will be back in action on Monday. They’ll be taking on Madrid. First pitch for softball is 5:30pm and baseball is set for 7pm.
