There will be a car show in Dallas County benefiting a good cause tomorrow.
The New Hope Church in Adel is hosting their second annual “Operation Christmas Child Car Show,” from 9am to 1pm. Organizer Ann Crannell encourages anyone to register their car, truck, bus or even tractor with no pre registration or fee included. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio they will ask for a free will donation with all the money benefiting the “Operation Christmas Child” non-profit organization which supports children in countries that are struck by war and famine.
“So Operation Christmas Child is super cool. It’s one of the projects that’s a purse that will essentially send shoe boxes that people here in the United States have packed with items that kids around the world could enjoy. So that could be crafts, that could be school supplies, toys, clothes, (and) personal care items, just things that they could need and want, and they pack them in a shoe box and then they also get them.”
Crannell says the New Hope Church will also supply a free lunch and other activities. She adds that people can also take a shoe box from the car show and pack it and return to church to be sent to Operation Christmas Child.
