Both the Panorama baseball and softball teams were in action last night. Both teams were in double headers against Van Meter.
It was tough sledding for both teams. The baseball team was going up against a very good Van Meter squad. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, scoring six runs in the first. They would take the lead 6-0. Van Meter would score four more runs to have a huge 10-0 lead after two. The Panthers couldn’t slow down the Van Meter offense and they would win this one 17-0. The Bulldogs was also take the second game, 12-2. Dropping Panorama to 0-12 on the season.
The softball team was hoping to ride some momentum after a win over Woodward-Granger on Tuesday. The Bulldogs would have a slight lead after the first inning, 3-1. Both teams were held scoreless after the second. Both teams would add two more runs, giving Van Meter the 5-3 after three. Eventually Panorama would drop this one, 10-3. The Panthers would struggle in the second game as well, losing 10-0. Putting the Panthers at 5-7 this season.
Both teams will be double header action once again tonight. This time against the Des Moines Christian Lions. First pitch for baseball is set for 5pm. Softball will have a first pitch at 5:30pm.
