An Adair man was recently sentenced on drug charges.
According to court documents, 27-year-old Matthew Paulsen plead guilty to two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) Third Offense, a class D Felony. He is sentenced to a term not to exceed five years, which will be served concurrently. He will also be required to pay a fine of $1,025 with the statutory 15-percent surcharge for both charges.
According to court documents, an Adair Police Officer was notified of a no contact order violation from a case in Atlantic on Paulsen. When the officer went to Paulsen’s residence to arrest him to be transported to Atlantic, the officer followed Paulsen inside the home and noticed drug-related items in plain view.
