The Dallas Center-Grimes softball team takes one of two against the top team in the Little Hawkeye standings Friday night.

Junior Aubrey Johansen toed the rubber for the first game of the doubleheader and went all seven innings and she had three strikeouts, gave up nine hits and one earned run. The bats got going early for the Mustangs and in the first innings they scored three runs with RBI’s from a single from Aubrey Johansen and a two run homerun from junior Macee Reiling. Dallas Center-Grimes would hold the Indianola Indians in check by a final score of 6 to 1.

In game two, freshman Tessa Jones would take the mound for the Mustangs and she would pitch six innings allowing four earned runs , striking out six and seven hits. The hitting by the Indians proved to be too much scoring two runs in the first inning, one in the fourth inning and another run in the sixth inning. Indianola took gave the second game of the doubleheader by a score of 4 to 3.

Dallas Center-Grimes softball team now has a record of (11-4) and a conference (6-2) and will play in the John Stevens Classic in Creston today.
