The Dallas County Conservation Board will give the public the opportunity to learn more about skunks.

The program called “Silly Skunks,” will take place from 10 to 11am on Tuesday at Voas Nature Area in Minburn. DCCB Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gillchrist says that this will be a kid friendly event that explains why having a skunk in a neighborhood isn’t so bad.

“So it’s a good chance to go out to an area that maybe you’ve never been before and learn something about skunks and then go out hiking and hopefully not run into one, especially during the day. So yeah, we hope you guys will come out to those and explore that area and learn about skunks.”

Gilchrist notes that attendees will also learn the best recipe for getting rid of the skunk smell spray out. If people cannot make it to this program they will have an additional “Silly Skunk,” program the following Saturday from 10 to 11am at Voas Nature Area. There is no cost to attend this event and registration is only needed if it gets canceled.
