There are lots of opportunities for kids in Greene County to participate in summer reading programs.

The Churdan Public Library is offering a weekly Summer Reading Program, with the theme of “Explore New Paths at Your Library.” The main programs take place on Wednesdays starting June 14th through July 19th. The toddler’s program will be at 9am, followed by the preschool storytime at 9:30am. At 1:30pm will be the school-age kid program and at 2:45pm is Reading Buddies. Churdan Library’s Summer Reading Program is provided by the Communities 4 Children and Community Partnerships for Protecting Children neighborhood/Community Network Mini Grants.

Additionally, the Paton Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is on Thursdays from 9-11am with their theme of “Oceans of Fun,” which includes a story time, crafts, snacks and games. The Rippey Public Library’s Summer Reading Program of “Find Your Voice” starts June 20th with a different weekly focus and their program ends on July 29th.

The Scranton Public Library will start its Summer Reading Program on July 5th. Kids in pre-kindergarten through second grade will be on Wednesdays and those third grade and older will be on Thursdays from 3:30-5pm through August 3rd.
