With the month already underway, there are still several events going on at the Panora Library.

Library Director Kim Finnegan tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the biggest part of the month is the summer kids reading program

“For preschool through fifth grade, the reading program is for children who either read, or you read to the child. They get a prize for every five books that they read, and we have a total of 25 books. So if you read all (the) books, the 25 total, then you receive five prizes.”

Finnegan adds that one of the prizes that those young readers can win is a trip to the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. She mentions that there will also be classes that the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be coming to the library to hold. Then at the end of the month, the library will have Chad Elliot in to perform by telling stories and playing some music.
