Local law enforcement will finish its current partnership with the “Click it or Ticket” campaign tomorrow.
Iowa State Trooper Shelby McCreedy says that the Iowa State Patrol and other departments all partnered with the campaign from the National Safety Bureau. She adds that while the main focus is making sure that everyone is complying with Iowa seatbelt laws, they also want to make sure that all people are safe and wearing their belts. McCreedy mentions that current Iowa law requires front seat passengers 18 and older to be buckled up, but that if all passengers are buckled up, those inside the vehicle will be safer if something were to happen.
