Greene County High School girls’ head track & field coach Derek Merk has released award winners for the recently completed season. The Rams placed in three events at the Class 2A portion of the Iowa State Coed Championships last month at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Senior Natalie Heupel was seventh in the 400 meter dash, and the 4 x 200 meter relay was seventh with Olivia Shannon, Katrina Heupel, Natalie Heupel,, and Kamryn Sanders. All are seniors. The 4 x 400 meter relay was sixth with freshman Kaycee Pittman, the Heupel twins, and Shannon.

Shannon was named recipient of the Senior Award. Sophomore Daniele Madsen was Most Improved with Pittman receiving the Freshman Breakthrough Athlete honor. The Work Ethic Award went to Shannon, with freshman Savannah Lansman receiving the Team Spirit Award. Emma Hoyle was named Field MVP and Shannon was the Track MVP.

Varsity letter winners are freshmen Addison Gannon, Pittman, Lila Osterson, Lansman, sophomores Madsen, Emma Ewalt, and Hailey Carman, junior Kaylee Stalder, and seniors Alexa Peters, Ashlynn Hinners, Autumn Stevens, Bella Schroeder, Hoyle, Gretah Kersey, Sanders, Shannon, and Katrina and Natalie Heupel.
