Bluejay Baseball Falls in Pitching Dual With Roland Story

Roland Story handed Perry their second straight conference loss Friday night as the Norse defeated the Bluejays 3-1 in Heart of Iowa action at Progressive Field.  Roland Story scored a run in the first inning and two more in the third to secure the narrow victory.  Starting pitcher Brett Schmitz was in control from the start, allowing only four hits and two walks to go along with eight strikeouts.

Drake Levan was exceptional on the mound for Perry, allowing only two earned runs over six strong innings while striking out nine.  Levan led the offense with a pair of hits, while Geren Kenney and Fausto Beato added singles.  Kain Killmer provided Perry’s only RBI while Kenney added a stolen base.

Perry falls to 1-5 while Roland Story improves to 4-3.  The Bluejays return home Tuesday to host Raccoon River conference foe ADM.  The game will be aired on KDLS.
