The Dallas Center-Grimes softball team was trailing late, but still pulled through and beat Waukee in their home opener in Dallas Center Thursday.

The Mustangs found themselves down 3 to 2 in the bottom of the seventh inning to the Waukee Warriors. Junior Reese Burke flied out to centerfield, but senior Abby Osborn tagged up to score to tie the game at 3 to 3.  Then junior Macee Reiling singled to right field driving in the walk off game winning run. Junior Audrey Johansen was the winning pitchers going 7 innings and allowing two earned runs and five strikeouts. Reiling had a multi hit game and drove in one run.

The Mustangs will have a rematch with the defending state champions Winterset on Tuesday May 30th.
