A fundraiser golf tournament is happening later this week in Jefferson.
The Keith Vander Wilt Memorial Golf Tournament will be at the Jefferson Community Golf Course on Saturday. Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the proceeds from this fundraiser will go back to the Greene County High School golf program.
“This is something that the family (of Keith Vander Wilt) wanted to do to help make the high school golf teams both more successful, uplift their spirits, and we’re excited.”
Head Coaches Heath Telleen and Kyle Kinne say Vander Wilt was a long-time high school golf, basketball and softball coach, as well as a math teacher in the school district.
The cost to participate in the four-person best shot tournament is $25 for golf course members and $40 for non-members. There is an $80 minimum donation per team with a $15 per golfer cart rental fee. Check-ins will be from 9-10am and the shotgun start begins at 10:30am. To register, contact the golf course at 515-386-4178.
Anyone wanting to make a monetary donation, may do, and any checks can be made payable to the Greene County School District, earmarked for the golf program. Checks and other monetary donations can be dropped off at 101 Ram Drive in Jefferson.
