Perry Chamber of Commerce will start their annual Grocery Bill RoundUp this week today with all proceeds funding the Fourth of July Celebration.

The Grocery Bill Roundup will run Monday until Memorial Day and grocery shoppers at the Perry HyVee and Perry Fareway can round up their bill to the nearest dollar or more as part of their groceries. That donation will go directly to their Fourth of July Fireworks Drive. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says they have already hit their goal of raising $18,000, but this fundraiser will help them plan for next year’s celebration.

“A little bit goes a long way when everyone adds up a few pennies, a few dollars and in the past it’s been a $1,000 or so dollars at each location (Perry HyVee over the week so Monday to Monday right before Memorial Weekend. So we encourage everyone to round up at the register.”

Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will make an appearance at both locations during the week.
