Trees removed in Russell Park

A free educational program is coming up in Jefferson that will get people outdoors.

The Jefferson Tree Committee is sponsoring a Tree Walk in Russell Park on Wednesday, May 24th at 2pm. Greene County Conservation Director Tanner Scheuermann and Jefferson Trees Forever Coordinator Brad Riphagen will lead the program and they will share the kinds of trees that are in the park, along with the surrounding habitat, how to care for trees and they will answer any other tree-related questions.

The Jefferson Tree Committee is hosting its fifth tree walk since 2021. The previous programs have been at Spring Lake, Seven Hills and Squirrel Hollow Parks in the county, as well as Daubendiek Park in Jefferson.
