Monday, May 15th
10:10am: Sally Peterson reported the Theft of a purse from her vehicle at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer has a suspect from the video and is investigating.
10:28am: An officer was requested to give a Medical Notice to a resident on McDuffie Drive. The message was relayed.
12:59pm: Rich Burkhardt spoke to an officer again about a situation with a winning lottery ticket. The officer obtained video of the event and it does not support Burkhardt’s version. He was advised to seek an attorney for any further issues with the claim. Nothing criminal had occurred.
2:34pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Elm Streets resulted in Ryan Ferrari of Cedar Falls being cited for, “Dark Windows.”
4:16pm: An officer investigated an accident at Elm and Lincoln Way Streets. A 2010 Toyota Sienna, owned and operated by Carrie Stein of Jefferson, was stopped facing south at the stop sign, in the left lane. Another vehicle had stopped beside her in the west lane. The vehicle attempted to make a left turn and struck the front of the Stein vehicle and drove away. The Stein vehicle suffered a reported $1500.00 in damages. The officer later located the other vehicle involved at 207 North Olive Street. The juvenile driver admitted to being involved in the accident and leaving the area. The juvenile driver was issued citations for, “Turning from Improper Lane and Fail to Report Accident.”
7:11pm: Toby Ores reported her juvenile daughter was receiving threatening Snap Chats from two Jefferson juvenile girls. The officer spoke to all parents who had children involved and advised the contact to end.
11:19pm: A caller reported a basketball hoop in the street in the 400 Block of East Park Street. The officer removed the item from the street, after receiving no answer at the door of the residence.
