The Perry School Board met on Monday.
The Board approved a bid to purchase a new school bus for $160,000 and sell two other old buses, PACES summer staff personnel and wages as presented and a field trip to Omaha, as well as revisions to Board policies that dealt with open meetings. They also approved a contract for educational services between the Perry Community School District and Metro West Learning Center.
The Board also heard from Perry Activities Director Katelyn Whelchel on the Go Bound plan. Whelchel said that the plan includes joining the The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference to streamline activities scheduling with the Bound software. She explained that this plan would make online ticketing required for every Perry activity event through Bound. Additionally, Perry Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates teacher Holly Killmer gave an update and a recap of the highlights the program had on students this year.
