
The girls from Greene County golfed at the Jewell Golf & Country Club on Friday and finished fifth among five teams in an 18 hole tournament. Roland-Story (Story City) won the event with 354 strokes, followed by West Marshall (State Center) 368, Eagle Grove 400, South Hamilton 417, and 466 for Greene County. Coach Heath Telleen told Raccoon Valley Radio he saw a lot of improvement from the Rams who played in tough conditions including rain. Maya Telleen had the low score for the Rams at 108, followed by Taylor Johnston 114. Hallie Monthei 118, and 126 from Maggie Mikkelson.
Both Greene County soccer teams are in tournaments today. The girls play in Creston in the first round of the four team event. The Rams are 0-8 and their one win last season came in this tournament.
Coach Carl Behne’s boys’ soccer team meets Class 3A number one ranked Des Moines Hoover this morning in the Nevada Tournament. The Huskies are 10-1 and the 2A number 7 Rams are 9-1. This is an eight team tourney featuring other highly regarded squads.
