The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday.
The Board held a budget workshop for the sheriff’s office, but did not take action on the item for informational purposes. Sheriff Adam Infante discussed the need for updated body and vehicle cameras to properly prosecute criminals. He also talked about the need for two new dispatch consoles because the county is going to take on the dispatch duties for the city of Perry.
Additionally, the Board approved the four qualified bidders for the structure concrete and the five bidders for the site utilities and earthwork on the new administration building. They approved the health plan renewal with the five changes recommended by the human resources department, as well as the Ute Avenue resurfacing project to be completed by the lowest bid, Grimes Asphalt.
Following multiple public hearings, they approved items including the MidAmerican Energy underground electric easement near Northwest Sunrise Drive in Waukee, a public facilities and use easement in Waukee, Waukee temporary construction easement on the T Avenue corridor, temporary construction on the easement town border station in Waukee, the cost advisory services contract renewal and the DECAT restorative justice contract.
The Board then appointed Mindy Farmer as an Aging Resources Representative and they appointed Bill Steammerman to the Central Iowa Housing Authority Board.
