The Perry School Board recently approved their next year’s budget which saw a decrease to their tax rate. 

Considering the 3-percent State Supplentalment Aid, the fiscal year 2024 school districts’ budget’s tax rate will be $18.84 which is a reduction of 61 cents from the previous year. Perry Community Schools Superintendent Clark Wicks notes that they were able to reduce the tax rate six years in a row. 

“As far as the budget and as far as the taxes go, positives on that and we hope to keep that going. You never know though. Student enrollment is a big thing that you get for SSA. So we will go year by year. But right now we’re in our sixth year of reducing that tax rate.”

Also in the fiscal year 2024 Perry School’s budget, the total revenues total $38,326,813 and the expenditures equal $37,707,530. The full budget will be linked here.
