It has been a tough week for the Perry Bluejay soccer team, losing their second one goal game in as many nights Tuesday at Dewey Field.  Greene County defeated Perry 3-2 in an important Heart of Iowa clash Tuesday night at Dewey Field.  Perry fell to Nevada 1-0 on Monday night.

The two teams scored goals in the opening ten minutes.  Greene County found the back of the net four minutes into the contest while Jonathan Chavez countered three minutes later with an unassisted tally.

Perry grabbed the lead at the 17 minute mark on an Anthony Chavez goal to take a 2-1 lead at halftime.  The Rams scored a pair of goals in the second half, including the game winner with under a minute to go.

“We are super thin on our roster right now,  with only 13 people available to play that have any experience,” stated head coach Gary Overla.  “We are razor thin and waiting for some kids to come back from injuries and other issues so we can get back to fully strength.”

Perry falls to 4-4 on the season.
