A brewing company that is based out of Minnesota is sponsoring a volunteer effort to clean up a community trail.

The Surly Brewing Company’s non profit organization from Minneapolis is teaming up with local businesses including The Handlebar and Nineteen14 to put on a volunteer effort to clean the Raccoon River Valley Trail from 10am until noon on Saturday in Dallas Center. Executive Director of Surly’s non-profit organization Mary Sellke tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they do non-profit work in communities that sell their products.

“So basically what has happened is we’ve done this. This would be our second year running. Doing this and partnering with the Handlebar was the first year and then Nineteen14 wanted to also join the party. And it is really just about getting the word out there and as many folks that can come out and clean up the Raccoon River Valley Trail on that particular day, since they both sit right on that trail and it’s used for by a lot of folks throughout all summer long.

There will be a form to feel out for anyone looking to join the clean up. Also all attendees will get a free alcoholic beverage and t-shirt.
