Monday night the Guthrie County School Board approved the Certified Budget for fiscal year 2023-24.
Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that before the regular board meeting, there was a public hearing on the certified budget. He adds that at that time, there were now questions, concerns or objections about the budget, so the hearing was closed, and the board came back to the topic in the action items.
Rasmussen tells Raccoon Valley Radio where the Board landed on a tax rate for the coming year.
“In our proposed budget for fiscal year (20)24 it was at $10.85. That is basically a pretty flat rate as we were at $10.82 the year before, but that $10.85 is just the property tax rate per $1,000 of taxable valuation.”
Besides approving the budget, the Board also approved a staff salary increase of 3.17-percent increase.
