Toddler Fest in 2019
A long awaited program in Greene County is back in person since the covid pandemic.
The 16th Annual Toddler Fest is this Saturday from 10am-noon at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson. All 2-5 year-olds and their families are encouraged to attend this free event that has been absent since 2019 and for Grand Junction Library Director Diane Kafer, she is excited to have this event return to being in person and hopes to see lots of people there.
“The very first Toddler Fest I attended I was just in awe. I could not believe the attendance and the kids. And some of them didn’t want to leave when they got there.”
Rippey Library Director Cara McCoy says there’s lots of activities for kids to do including a veterinarian clinic, grocery store, a pizzeria, face painting, a duck pond with fishing, the Jefferson Rotary Club will once again have their free books and campfire stories, among other things. Paton Library Director Kimberly Bohnet talks about what she is looking forward to at Toddler Fest.
“We really think that play is beneficial for these young kids and so we think having this for the kiddos is important just to be interacting with other kids and seeing other kids from daycares, and libraries, and school, and stuff, I think it’ll be great for them.”
Additionally, Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be there from 10am-noon playing music and making local announcements. Toddler Fest is a come and go event and it is sponsored by the Greene County Board of Supervisors and the Greene County Libraries Association.
