For the first time this season the Greene County girl’s golf team had six players and the Rams turned in their best round of the season on Friday. Coach Heath Telleen’s team faced Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) on Friday at The Hill west of Grand Junction. The Knights won 197-240 and were led by medalist Elsa Tiefenthaler at 44 and runner-up Addy Beiter with 45.
A trio of Rams, Hallie Monthei, Taylor Johnston, and Maya Telleen, each shot 59. The fourth score to count in the team total was a 63 from Skylar Warnke. Coach Telleen said, “It was a great night out for the girls. They improved by 41 strokes from last time out. Three girls shot scores in the 50’s for the first time in their young careers. The girls are doing a great job learning and improving.” The coach added he was very proud of the players.
