lake panoramaLast night’s severe weather that rolled through Guthrie County unfortunately caused significant property damage, especially out at Lake Panorama.

Just before midnight last night, Lake Panorama Association General Manager John Rutledge told Raccoon Valley Radio that the intense storm that swept through portions of Guthrie County ripped the roofs off multiple lake homes.  Other “extremely significant property damage,” especially at the Boulder Cove Colony condominiums, was sustained as well.

First responder crews were out assessing damage and making sure of no injuries until the early hours this morning.  No injuries had been reported as of late last night according to Rutledge.

In the aftermath of the storm, Rutledge is asking lake residents not to tinker with their power until Guthrie County REC has been out to disconnect and then reconnect the lake’s power grid.  Rutledge also asks that lake residents call 9-1-1 immediately if they see any gas leaks near their homes.

If any lake residents have questions about the severity of last night’s storm, they are advised to call the LPA Office to make those inquiries rather than calling emergency operators.  Rutledge can be reached at the LPA Office at 641-755-2301.

Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information about the impact of last night’s storm as it becomes official.
