Kay Elizabeth Teague, age 86, of Carroll, IA, joined friends and family in heaven on April 10, 2023. Kay’s children were by her bedside at St. Anthony Hospital when she passed.

According to Kay’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at the Carroll City Cemetery. A Celebration of Kay’s Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Kay’s name for a later designation and may be mailed to: Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home c/o Kay Teague – 705 N. Carroll St. Carroll, IA 51401.

Kay was born on March 3, 1937 to a large, loving family and was a lifelong resident of Carroll. Kay married her high school sweetheart Darwin Teague on June 22, 1957. Darwin was employed at Great Plains Gas and later started Midwest Insulation with his brother-in-law. After raising her children, Kay was employed by Carroll Community Schools as a paraprofessional where she excelled at working with troubled children. Kay enjoyed having coffee with her close friends and family and was an avid, successful bridge player who was known for her skill and luck with cards. She also enjoyed reading or listening to CDs and tending to her flowers until she was no longer able to garden. Kay had an exuberance for life that was unmatched and never met a stranger. Her charm and personality garnered her many friends.

Kay is survived by her children daughter Julie of North Manchester, Indiana, daughter Laurie of Marco Island, Florida, son Tracy of Algona, Iowa, and son Troy (Julie) of Newton, Iowa, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband Darwin, brother, Bob Lux, and sisters Marilyn and Jolene.
