The spring season is in full swing and that means the weather will be prime for fishing. 

Department of Natural Resources of Dallas County Dustin Eighmy says that people who like to fish should prioritize getting their fishing pole and tackle box prepped along with getting their fishing licenses. He explains that it’s pretty easy to get a license by utilizing their app or website to avoid any fines.

“We make it pretty simple. Nowadays we have an app called “Go Outdoors IA”. Download that from your app store and you can purchase a license directly on your phone. And that is acceptable to any DNR conservation officer out there checking licenses. You can pull it up on your phone and show them the phone right there that you have a fishing license.”

Eighmy  says popular fishing spots in Dallas County include the South Raccoon River in Redfield and Triumph Park in Waukee. He notes that a popular fish being reeled in so far are Walleye and Trout. The link for the Go Outdoors app will be linked here.
