A lot of sweet pies were distributed through the Raccoon Valley Radio studios on Wednesday to raise funds for the city’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks display.

The Perry Chamber of Commerce teamed up with Raccoon Valley Radio and auctioned off 24 pies which in total raised $8,625. The most expensive dessert went to JP Hulgan’s cheesecake and Lisa Menz spent $2,100.

The auction was broadcasted live over 94.3, 99.7FM and 1310 AM KDLS for people to tune in live and the event was also livestreamed on Facebook with Auctioneer Tom Burkgren and Raccoon Valley Radio’s own Shawn Kinney emceeing the event.  Between the Live Radio Pie Auction and the Big Boom Bracket Battle, $14,572 has been raised so far for the Fourth of July celebration fireworks.
