The Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting a fun gardening event each week this month.

The Extension is doing a windowsill herb garden class, and it started earlier this week with their first class at the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library. On April 11th they will visit the Stuart Public Library starting at 11am, where participants will learn how to plant their own gardens, and raise and harvest the herbs they choose to grow.

Registration is required for the event, and those wanting to attend can do so by calling the Stuart Public Library at the number provided in this story online. It will cost $5 per garden, with those fees to offset direct expenses and support the Human Sciences County Extension Program. The windowsill herb garden class will also be taught at the Bayard Public Library at 5:30pm on April 19th, and at the Panora Public Library on April 25th at 2pm.
