Thursday, May 8th
A deputy while on routine patrol checked an occupied vehicle that was parked in the Scranton City park. The female driver explained that she was from the state of Oregon and will be visiting friends in Ralston. Her identity was determined and allowed to remain in the park until daylight.
A deputy was advised of a dog running at large in the 2200 block of F Avenue. The owner of the dog was soon determined.
A deputy and the Grand Junction Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a reported grass fire on X Avenue and 170th Street. The fire was extinguished without incident.
A deputy and the Jefferson Fire Department were dispatched to a reported one vehicle accident on 230th Street near Jordan Avenue. A 2000 Chevrolet Pickup truck being driven by Jamie J. Theulen 17, of Scranton was traveling northbound on Jordan Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle and entered the ditch. Theulen was not injured in the accident but his truck sustained an estimated $5000 in damages. Jamie J. Theulen was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control.
Weather spotters were dispatched to their respective spotting locations throughout the county after the National Weather Service issued watches and warnings for Greene County.
A deputy and the Grand Junction Fire Department were dispatched to 502 12th Street in Grand Junction for a reported car fire. Grand Junction acting Fire Chief Tim Fester believes the fire started in dash of the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe that is owned by Eric Higgins of Grand Junction. Damage to the Tahoe was estimated to be $10,000.
A deputy was advised of an unknown stray dog being restrained by a resident in the 600 block of Irving Street in Scranton. The owner was identified and picked up the dog.
Friday, May 9th
A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer during a verbal altercation in progress in the 200 block of East State Street.
A deputy responded and checked an alarm activation at the 209 Main Restaurant in Paton. It was determined that a delivery truck was unloading food supplies and was unaware that he activated the silent alarm.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
