There’s only a couple days left to help donate a certain item for a worthy cause.
Greene County Elementary Physical Education Teacher Sean Thompson says a bike drive is currently underway where he’s asking for donations of 24-inch wheel bikes for fourth graders. Thompson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that when he sent out a survey for fourth grade families asking if their child had a bike and if not, would they like one, and 12 responded they would like a bike.
Thompson believes that every fourth grader should have a bike of their own so they can have their own form of transportation, gain more independence, and learn the rules and regulations of the road. Thompson is requesting bikes that are in good, mechanical order to be dropped off at the brown shed in the west parking lot of the elementary school or contact him at 515-290-1307 or email at thompsonsean@greenecountycsd.net. The deadline for bike donations is this Friday.
