The Iowa High School Athletic Association unveiled its new football classification system Tuesday and the result was a drop in class for Perry High School. For the first time in association history, the state used a new model that factors in free and reduced lunch percentage into the total beds enrollment. Perry reported .56 percent for free and reduced lunch, which dropped the school into Class 3A from 4A.
Perry will find out the new district next week. This new classification is for the next two years.
