With a new month means new activities for youth at the Jefferson Public Library.

A new contest is happening for middle school kids in grades 5th-8th. The “Mario Madness” features a tournament, bracket-style competition with Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The tournament will take place on March 14th from 2-4pm at the library. It is free to sign up and participants can pick their own avatar before the races begin. Additionally, there will be some warm up and cool down activities, as well as prizes. Registration deadline is Sunday by contacting the children’s department at 515-386-4415

There are also themed crafts happening this month in the children’s department. For the remaining Mondays this month, there are make and take crafts including March 13th with paper umbrellas, March 20th is 3D fruit and March 27th will be Peek-A-Boo landscapes. Take home crafts are available upon request. These are available when the library is open on Mondays.
