A social media challenge now turns into a bracket fundraising battle for the Perry Chamber of Commerce.
The Big Boom Bracket Battle is a fundraiser to raise money for the annual Fourth of July celebration in Perry and the first elimination round saw people voting with likes on Facebook to determine which 16 of the 53 participants would move on. The elimination round of the contest received 11,364 likes between the 53 nominees.
Now, the fundraising portion of the competition begins and those who raise more funds than their opponent will move on to the next round. Donations are now being accepted until March 14th at 10 a.m. for the Sweet-as-Pie 16 and then the Explosive 8 will be decided that day at noon.
Donations can be made online here or they can be made in-person at Ben’s Five and Dime and the McCreary Center. Donations can also be mailed to the Perry Chamber of Commerce or delivered.
