The indoor track & field season for Greene County High School athletes is underway. Coach Chad Morton had a partial squad compete Tuesday afternoon and evening at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls for the A.D. Dickinson Relays on the U. of Northern Iowa campus.
The highest placing performance for the Rams was 26th in the 800 meter run by freshman Drew Wolterman in 2:11.52. There were 202 runners in the 800. Sophomore Lane Fields tied for 31st in high jump among 94 competitors at 5′ 8″. Freshman Nick Madsen ran the 400 meter dash in :55.32, good for 40th among 200 runners, and freshman Broc Stream was 57th among 129 long jumpers at 18′ 2″.
Also, Kamden Kinne was 89th among 196 shot putters at 38′ 2-1/4″ and Isaac Carman was 169th in the same event at 31′ 0″. Eli Mohr was 120th in the long jump at 15′ 5″ while Mohr was 164th in the 200 meter dash in :26.34 in a field of 200. Kaiden Burbank was 181st in the same event in 26.72. Noah Hinote ran the 800 meters in 2:15.22, good for 62nd among 202 runners.
Greene County sends its girls to the Iowa State Indoor Championships tomorrow at 9 a.m. on the Iowa State U. campus inside the Lied Recreation Center, and the boys go to the same meet at 9 a.m. on Friday.
