A couple of star players from Dallas Center-Grimes girls 2023 Class 4A basketball state championship team got recognized for their excellent play.
Vanessa Bickford was named the captain of the 2023 Class 4A State All Tournament team. Bickford scored a total of 24 points while grabbing 19 rebounds and collected 11 assist in all three tournament games. Emma Miner was selected as the Iowa Pork Producers Top Producer of the Championship Game. Miner racked up a double-double in the championship game against North Polk, 23 points and 12 rebounds and she was also put on the Class 4A All Tournament Team and finished the tournament scoring 37 points and grabbed 23 rebounds for the entirety of the tournament.
