The Adel Chamber of Commerce held a re-grand opening ceremony for an established bowling alley that’s been restored on Friday.

Adel Family Fun Center suffered damages from a furnace that caught fire insider their building and caused them to close business for three months. General Manager Bryce Smith says without the quick response of first responders the damage would have caused further delays in the renovation of the bowling alley.

“The fire was extra devastating happening in the middle of winter and thankfully no one was hurt and the damage was as minimal as it could of been thanks to the Adel Fire Department and the police department doing their jobs.”

Smith says the community is thrilled the bowling alley has reopened.

“So heartwarming to have people reach out to our Facebook page and email us and leave messages on our phone just saying, we’re so excited for you to be back open. That’s you know, that’s just a simple message. You know, they’re not asking for anything. They’re not wanting anything. They’re just excited for us to be reopened.”

The Adel Family Fun Center also serves a wide variety of food and arcade games and will start up their bowling league on Sundays.
