Perry junior Keegan Snyder certainly grew in the sport of wrestling from his sophomore to junior season.  The hard nose competitor is coming off his first state championship experience and celebrated a couple of victories in his inaugural trip to Des Moines.

“I was able to train with some Waukee Northwest guys the week leading up to state,” stated Snyder.  “I kept training with my Perry teammates as well and felt ready for the moment.”

Snyder’s wrestling season got off to a quicker start than anyone anticipated.  He broke his hand midway through the football season and was able to jump start his wrestling conditioning right after surgery.

“Yeah, it stunk missing some football games.  The bright side of it was that I was able to get in some non-contact drill work in wrestling and start that season a little earlier than normal.  I am looking forward to a full year of football next year.”

Snyder is now gearing up for the spring soccer season.
