The Perry School District wants to get more support for their students that stand out  academically.

Superintendent Clark Wicks says they are looking to add a Talented and Gifted Teacher (TAG) which would identify the gifted learners and provide appropriate advanced instruction and programming for those students. Wicks says this position will further the student success at the Perry School District.

“We talk a lot about supporting kids that maybe are struggling either academically, (with) mental health or whatever the case. But it’s also important to balance that out with getting more support for those kids that really want to excel. So we’re excited to be able to add a TAGposition.”

Wicks says they currently have one TAG teacher overseeing the middle school and high school but with this new position they will be able to split those duties.
