A woman from Dallas County was sentenced to federal prison for wire fraud in early February.

According to the Southern District Court of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 28-year-old Jordyn Darion Culp from Dallas Center pled guilty to stealing $273,700 from the Federal Employees’ Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) program. She was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison and ordered to pay restitution along with being ordered to serve three years of supervised release after her prison term.

The charge stems from when Culp had access to FEGLI trust accounts through her employment and was fraudulently transferring money from the program to her personal bank account.  Culp purchased a motorcycle, motorhome and cargo trailer using the fraudulent money and posted it on social media which were later forfeited.
