There will be a couple of Dallas County high schools showing off their talents in the district individual speech competition this weekend.
For Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School they will be sending 14 students in seven different categories to Dallas Center-Grimes High School on Saturday. The categories they will perform in include poetry, prose, lit program, storytelling, original oratory, after dinner Speaking and Radio News Announcing. Speech Coach Jacque Seidl is excited to watch her group filled with talent perform.
“Lots of confidence. We’ve been practicing for the last few weeks. I’ve been very impressed with the things that they have either brought to me to perform or the things that they have created. And I’m just really excited to see them get their moment. I think practicing is one thing, but getting to go into that contest room and really show off those skills is a whole another thing and we are ready.”
For Perry, they will also have 14 students competing at districts in various individual events at the Dallas Center-Grimes High School on Saturday.
