Greene County finished the 2022-23 boys’ basketball season at 10-13 with six seniors on the team including three starters. Wyatt Villebro, Lucas Jablonski, and Parker Fitzpatrick were in reserve roles, while Jesse Miller, Patrick Daugherty, and Richard Daugherty, were starters.

Head coach Chris Nelson talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the seniors. “They all were valuable to our team. Obviously, some had bigger roles than others. Wyatt and Lucas were great role guys in practice and made the most of their time when they got in games. Parker Fitzpatrick (transfer from Paton-Churdan) got on the floor late in the season, but I thought Parker was really good all year. He played hard when he finally got his chance. It was nice getting Patrick Daugherty back after he missed all last season due to injury. He did a lot of good things and was probably our top defender on the ball. Richard and Jesse played a lot of minutes of varsity and I’m sure some schools are glad they are finally going to be gone because they’ve been playing for 3-1/2 to 4 years. They did a lot of good things for us!”

About the 2023-24 season, the coach added, “We’ve got some big shoes to fill, but I think we have some young guys eager to do that.”
