This Saturday is the Iowa High School Speech Association District Individual Contest and Greene County and Paton-Churdan will send several students.
Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray tells Raccoon Valley Radio ten students are going to compete Saturday in a total of 12 categories. Two students are preparing to perform two entries, including Ilse Hooper with reviewing and prose, and Bill Wright with expository address and radio news.
Additionally, Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Lauren Boysen says four students are signed up to compete in a total of six categories. Two students are also going to compete in two categories, including Phoenix Hartman with prose and improvisation and Leah McCormick with spontaneous speaking and acting.
Both schools are heading to Dallas Center-Grimes and the students that earn a Division I-rating from the judge will move onto the state competition. The full list of the students from Greene County and P-C and their categories they will be competing in can be found below.
