Dallas Center-Grimes had one wrestler left on Saturday and he’d end up on the podium.
Senior Jacob Fistler lost in the semi-final of the championship bracket of the IHSAA State Championship on Friday to (1 seed) Caden McDermott from Pleasantville by a decision. Fistler would enter Saturday in the consolation bracket with a chance at third place but he’d have to beat (2 seed) Brent Slade from Southeast Polk. Slade would get the upper hand with a 10-9 decision win. Jacob Fistler would finish the state tournament on the podium at 6th place.
Jacob Fistler 6th place. He is a leader in our room and he is someone that our younger generations look up to and want to be like. He will do great things in wrestling at the next level and we can’t wait to see the impact he makes on a college program! Keep having fun! pic.twitter.com/Nd1ruJYhaF
