Dallas Center-Grimes girls basketball team advances in the Class 4A Region 1 bracket in Grimes on Saturday.

The Mustangs took on the Carroll Tigers and won by a score of 45 to 33. The final score did not reflect the game because Carroll fought hard in this game even trailing by four points late into the fourth quarter. A three pointer with 3:15 left in the game from Kayla Reis would spur the momentum for the Mustangs and they would close the game on a 9 to 4 run and collect their 19th victory.

Emma Miner scored 11 points and Kayla Reis add 11 points off the bench. Now they will take on (15-7) Humboldt for the region championship to qualify for the state tournament in Des Moines for their third year in a row.

The game will be played at the Dallas Center-Grimes Meadows gym at 7pm on Tuesday and the game will be broadcasted live on KDLS 94.3 99.7 and 1310 AM or on out website.
